Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, who led Russia’s nuclear, biological, and chemical defense forces, was killed in a bomb attack in Moscow.
The bomb was reportedly hidden in an electric scooter. The explosion on Ryazansky Prospekt also killed Kirillov’s assistant.
The incident comes after accusations of chemical weapons deployment by Ukraine and sanctions imposed by the UK. Russian authorities have launched a criminal investigation.
