Today, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) led extensive discussions on the overall political, administrative, and security situation in the Tigray region, as well as other related issues. The discussions included senior federal government officials and regional political and security leaders.
The talks focused on collaboratively addressing the challenges facing the region and finding sustainable solutions. Agreement was reached to work in partnership to create favorable conditions for peace, effective governance, and development that meet the needs of the people in the region.
A particular emphasis was placed on reintegrating displaced citizens back to their homes and restoring former combatants to regular civilian life. These efforts will be conducted with greater focus and dedication.
Additionally, the discussions highlighted the need for the sustainable and lawful utilization of the region’s natural resources to benefit both the local population and the nation. There was also a commitment to improving public service delivery to align with the needs and expectations of the people.
Finally, the discussions concluded with a roadmap to ensure that the transitional administration in the region fulfills its responsibilities effectively until regional elections are held.
