Israeli investors have been encouraged to take part in Ethiopia’s growing transport and logistics sector, which is open to private investment. The invitation was extended by Ethiopia’s State Minister of Transport and Logistics, Deta Berhe Hassan, during discussions with executives of an Israeli holding company.
The State Minister highlighted Ethiopia’s commitment to enhancing its transport and logistics capabilities through collaboration with the private sector. He also detailed the diverse investment opportunities available in the sector, underscoring the country’s strategic efforts to boost economic development and infrastructure.
Ethiopia offers favorable conditions for investment, including a growing economy, skilled workforce, and necessary infrastructure, making it an attractive destination for international investors. The government assured potential investors of its full support to facilitate their ventures in the country.
The Israeli holding company representatives expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in Ethiopia, not only in logistics but also in agriculture, livestock development, energy, cybersecurity, and other sectors. They emphasized their company’s experience in collaborating with various countries worldwide and their intention to expand operations in Ethiopia.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen the longstanding bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Israel, enhancing economic ties and diplomatic engagement. The Ethiopian government views foreign investment as a critical driver for development and a means to unlock the country’s full potential in key sectors.
