Ethiopian Airlines Resumes Flights to Monrovia

Addis Ababa, November 30, 2024 – Ethiopian Airlines has resumed its passenger flight service to Monrovia, Liberia, marking the end of a COVID-19-related disruption. The first flight took off this morning, bringing back essential air travel between the two nations.

The inaugural flight ceremony was attended by high-profile figures, including Liberia’s Transport Minister, Sirleaf Tyler, Liberian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Louise Sharene, Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mesfin Tassew, and other notable guests.

With flights now operating three times a week, Ethiopian Airlines aims to enhance connectivity, promote economic growth, and foster stronger people-to-people relationships between Ethiopia and Liberia.

As Africa’s largest airline, Ethiopian Airlines continues to expand its network across the continent and internationally. The airline boasts the youngest fleet in Africa, servicing over 150 destinations across five continents, and holds a dominant share of both passenger and cargo traffic in Africa.
