The United States and the United Kingdom have confirmed their support for the agreement reached between Ethiopia and Somalia under the framework of the Ankara Agreement.
The United States emphasized the importance of cooperation based on the agreement, noting that further consultations are required. Additionally, the United States expressed appreciation for Turkey’s role in facilitating the deal.
Both Ethiopia and Somalia have been urged to strengthen their security cooperation, especially in fighting Al-Shabaab, a common threat to the region.
The United Kingdom also highlighted the commitment of both countries to mutual development and shared prosperity under the Ankara Agreement, emphasizing the role of both nations in regional stability and progress.
Furthermore, the United Kingdom expressed gratitude to Turkey and the leaders of both countries for their contributions to this important agreement. The UK reaffirmed its support for efforts aimed at enhancing collaboration, stability, and progress in the Horn of Africa region.
